Doodle of the Day -- 4-24-2006

WOO-HOO!!! My Wacom Graphire 4 tablet arrived today. Didn't get much time playing with it yet since I had to do some troubleshooting with it. End result was that I had to download the most recent driver to get it to work properly.

Anyway, I played around a little in Photoshop. This was the result. I am really excited about this. I think I have the hand-eye thing down pretty well. Now, I have to practice on the other tricks both it and Illustrator can do.

I am hoping that this will be a nice compliment to my "old school" drawing techniques.

This pic reminds me of the movie "Toys" with Robin Williams!

I am so happy for you!!! Keep us informed of the differences.

I used to work on a mac, when I was a "graphic designer" and had a wacom, used illustrator, freehand, and photoshop. I have to say, I was never comfortable creating "art" on the computer. Graphics, yes, and scanning in art, and maybe a little manipulation...but you see so much incredible digital work out there, it is something we are all probably going to have to learn, and excel at be contenders...for now I stick the basics, of bristol, tracing paper, and of course my new watercolour pencils!!!

Vern: That was a great movie and yes, it does look like the outside scenes. Great recall!

Pear: There is a lot of great stuff out there. Just got my two books in the mail -- Teach yourself Adobe Photoshop 7 and Teach yourself Adobe Illustrator 9 in 24 Hours. We'll see how they go. I still like my pens and colored pencils. I may use them as a base and do some manipulation. Who knows?

Mom: You just need to practice.

Thanks for commenting on this.
