Illustration Friday -- Sorry

Wasn't sure at first how I was going to accomplish this week's theme. Usually, I like action words versus emotion words. However, I thought of my dogs and how they look when they get in the garbage or have an accident in the house. Although, my dogs have never broke a vase, they have done their share of damage. Their eyes have that "I'm sorry" look to them and you instantly forget your anger.

This one's for all you pet owners out there. Posted by Picasa

Great job and great subject. I know exactly what you are talking about too. Our dog would cower and put her tail between her legs. She punished herself for what ever it was she did! You just knew, that she knew. On the other hand, cats are COMPLETELE opposite!!!!

This is so cute, wow you really have the forlorn, apologetic look in his eyes, i've seen that look before to. Very cool piece!

Michael: Thanks. I see it a lot. My dogs are trouble makers. :)

Andrea: It could have been a wet spot. That was my first idea, but thought it may be too graphic. (like my toilet post was not graphic) :)

Pear: Thanks. We have two dogs and two cats. I completely agree that the cats would NEVER say sorry.

Hardwax: I actually started with the eyes. They were the hardest to get "right."

Thanks to all of you for coming by and commenting.

All the little details are brilliant...the mouse peering in the window, the crack in the wall and the smiley faces on the power point. I love it!

That's funny Lou 'cause I almost used my parent's dog for this one. Their eyes say it all, huh? Great little drawing here.

The eyes that kill me are after you deliver whatever punishment it is...they seem so crushed. I hate that! Great illo!

Perfect theme illustration. I think that little pup is very sorry.

I missed last weeks illustration - I really like it too. I also used a yin yang idea but yours stayed true to the original design of it so I think it works much better than mine did.

I'm jealous that your dogs are remorseful.

Great illo! Love the take on IF's theme of "sorry"

Yep, nothing like that 'hangdog' expression that pooches have when it comes to saying 'I'm sorry.' You hit the nail on the head with this one.

This is perfect!...and, it is always amazing the emotions we can see in our pet's eyes and expressions. The eyes are fantastic! GREAT for this week's theme!

Vern: Thanks for noticing the details. I think I enjoy doing them the most.

Steve: I could not help but doing a dog. I would say my Min Pin looks more like this than my Chow/Shepard mix. He just walks away and lays down.

Big A: I have to agree. That look is a killer.

Wee Cottage: Thanks. I think so, too. I think your yin yang worked just as well.

Lee: hehehe. I have one that does and one that doesn't. I feel with you.

Robert: hehehe. Thanks.

Tiffinix: Thanks.

Shano: oh, only be half jealous. My other dog shows very little to no remorse.

Twisselman: Thanks.

TXArtcGal: Her eyes usually always get me. They are big and sad looking when she has done something bad.

PPC: Thanks and thanks!

As always, thanks for visiting and leaving your comments.
